N1Billion Spent On Super Eagles

The Federal Government has spent about N1b as match bonuses and allowances on the players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria and officials alone in the last 18 months, aside from their accommodation and feeding while in camp.

Analysis reveals that about N1 billion has been consumed by the Super Eagles since Stephen Keshi took charge of the team in November 2011 as allowances and bonuses.

According to the analysis, the bonuses were 10,000 dollars for each player and some backroom staff, while the chief coach got 20,000 dollars; his assistants got 15,000 and 12,000 dollars respectively for a win and half of these amounts for drawn.
