The relationship ended just days after Mario was reported to have made lewd remarks about the Belgian model, apparently saying that Real Madrid’s team could sleep with her if they win their Champions League clash with Borussia Dortmund, although he denied saying this.
A source said: ‘This was a major bust-up and could spell the end for Mario and Fanny.’
In Spanish newspapers AS and Marca, Mario had been quoted as saying: ‘If Real Madrid come back in Champions League, I’ll let my girlfriend sleep with them!’
In March this year, Mario said that Fanny was ‘the first woman I feel comfortable with’ adding: ‘In a short time she found herself in sync with me. I could spend my whole life with someone life this.’
But that looks unlikely, after reports claimed that Fanny had understandably reacted angrily to Mario’s distasteful boasts.
