Secondary school students busted for having sex on campus, another for filming it

Two Hudson, FL high school students have been arrested pending an investigation of a video of a sex act. Allegedly a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy had sex in Fivay High School’s media center around lunchtime on Monday. Another student, a 15-year-old boy, saw the two in the act and decided to film the students and send the video throughout the school.

Pasco County Sherriff Chris Nocco commented on the matter: “Having this thing go viral would have been horrendous, because what we are doing. Being proactive, we are going to send a message to anybody involved who committed a criminal act, they are going to be arrested.” The 17-year-old boy has been charged with lewd or lascivious battery and was arrested as well as the 15-year-old impromptu dirty films director for transmission of child pornography. The 15-year-old girl says that the act was totally consensual and that she doesn’t want to press any charges; however according to Florida law, whether or not the act was consensual doesn’t matter. The girl is below the age of consent in the state, so the act is automatically illegal.

Fivay High School has only been open three years but has been heavily scrutinized because of the behavior that has been exhibited by its students. There has been a string of incidents at the school that keeps it in the headlines and some students just don’t feel safe there. A student was recently arrested for bringing knives to school, saying they were for protection, and a young female student took her own life following an incident of extreme cyber-bullying. A large portion of students and faculty members do not believe that the school fosters a healthy learning space for students. One student compared the high school to prison. “This school is like prison,” he said. “You come in, do your time, and get out.”
