62 fake National Youth Service Corps
(NYSC) corp members were arrested by Nigeria Security and Civil
Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nasarawa State command, on Monday at another fake NYSC
orientation camp at Tammah village, in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the
state.
Parading the suspects, 44 females and 18 males, the
state commandant, Mr Andekin Amos Musa, said the arrest was made possible
through the routine surveillance of members of the state command, adding that
four drivers, who convened them to the village and one of the photographers
assigned for the illicit job, were also arrested.
“Further investigations revealed that the
suspected fake corps members paid money ranging from N120,000 to
N200,000 before they were admitted to the camp. “I want to warn parents
and guardians to monitor their children and wards very closely, so as to curb
their excesses,” he added.
